Do you want to start your own business? Applications for Stepping Stones Social Inclusion Programs are NOW OPEN - quick - limited places!
BSL in partnership with Hume City Council is delivering the Stepping Stones to Social Inclusion Program as part of the Hume Community Revitalisation Project.
Stepping Stones to Social Inclusion is a unique micro-enterprise program, tailored to women from refugee and migrant backgrounds, that builds upon each participants’ strengths and experiences. The program offers small business training, mentoring and support to enable the entrepreneurs to overcome significant barriers to entering the workforce and to make a living in their new country. The program aims to increase business skills, knowledge of Australian business systems and increase financial capabilities. The goal is to support people to establish viable businesses and increase social and economic participation.
Applications are NOW OPEN for women to join our program who are from either:
- An asylum seeker, refugee, or migrant background,
- Who live in the following postcodes: 3047, 3048 and 3061 (Jacana, Broadmeadows, Dallas, Coolaroo, Campbellfield, Meadow Heights, and Upfield)
Participants of the Stepping Stones Program learn how to:
- Choose a pathway that is based on strengths
- Turn an idea into a small business.
- Complete a business plan.
- Develop skills and systems to run a small business.
- Understand business culture and systems in Australia.
- Source money (capital) to start your business.
