Australia Post are now seeking a keen & passionate professional to join our facility as a Domestic Air Linehaul Manager in Tullamarine, Victoria. We are also considering applications for anyone interstate as we can relocate the position if need be.

This is a newly created position in our organisation & we are looking for a candidate who excited for a new challenge.

The Domestic Air Linehaul Manager is a permanent position and is responsible for the day to day management, co-ordination and training and development of the APG Air Linehaul Coordinators that are based in 5 locations nationally.

Working closely with the Network & Air Services Manager and the leadership team this role is responsible for ensuring that there is adequate coverage and availability of Air Linehaul coordinators to support the timely and effective management of APG product in the Domestic Air Network in the day to day operations.

Hours of operation will include some out of hours coverage to support communications and management of operational staff working shifts overnight during the APG Freighter Operations. You will also need to be prepared to travel interstate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited too:
Participate in scheduled daily Air Service conference calls for operational briefings to APG Air Linehaul Co-ordinators

Design, develop and maintain the Air Linehaul Coordinator training curriculum that includes understanding the business rules and dimensions of the Partnership agreement with Qantas Freight for the provision of the dedicated APG Freighter Network.

Responsible for ensuring that all Air Linehaul Co-ordinators have the correct security clearance to work on airport and that training on all compliance requirements such as Dangerous Goods and suspect item training and airport security clearance are up to date and current.

Develop and maintain relationships with all APG processing facilities relevant to the domestic air linehaul network and negotiate as required leave coverage with personnel from these facilities.

Identify and agree with the APG processing facilities the group of staff nominated for leave coverage in advance and ensure that they are appropriately trained, supported and supervised.

Participate and contribute to process improvement projects and ensure that process changes are incorporated into the Air Linehaul Co-ordinator training curriculum.

Ensure that Air linehaul co-ordinators are trained to understand both the requirement to book all APG lodgements on the correct QF service standard in line with guidelines provided by the National Air services team; and that it is their responsibility to ensure that optimal utilisation of purchased Block space allocations on Qantas passenger aircraft is achieved.

Contribute and participate in identifying opportunities for air linehaul cost savings

Ensure that all Air Linehaul co-ordinators are briefed and understand any identified air linehaul cost savings initiatives

Execute required customer solutions for air linehaul lodgement and retrieval.

Communicate and support and mentor the Air Linehaul Co-ordinators in developing a customer and commercially focussed approach to undertaking their duties

In order to be successful, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising operational staff in a Freight / Mail or Gateway facility or equivalent.

Good understanding of the end to end business process for lodgement and retrieval in the domestic air linehaul networks and the systems supporting these activities.

A demonstrated understanding of the challenges of managing staff in remote locations and the ability to identify strategies to manage these challenges

Ability to develop positive relationships with peers, leaders, customer and external service providers

Strong Customer service focus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
