An exciting professional development opportunity has become available to join the Governance Department at Hume City Council and further your career in the diverse role of Governance Support Officer.

Are you highly organised with well-developed administration skills? The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including making all arrangements in relation to the conduct of citizenship ceremonies and attending Council meetings to perform the role of Meeting Clerk. You will also be responsible for maintaining Council's policy register, researching applications received under the Geographic Place Names Act, preparing meeting agendas and performing project support administrative tasks.

Key Skills

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare and provide high quality, accurate documentation, reports and correspondence.
  • A commitment and proven ability to provide the highest level of customer service in both an internal and external customer environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management, organisational and planning of work to ensure the delivery is within specific timeframes.
  • The ability to perform a range of administrative tasks in support of projects being undertaken by your team.
